There has never been a better time to purchase a home in the Southeastern Michigan area. The market has reduced the prices of homes over the past three years combined with historically low interest rates and the newly expanded Home Buyer Tax Credit. When Congress passed an extention to the 2009 First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit they also expanded it to include a tax credit for current home owners. First Time home buyers can receive up to an $8000 Tax Credit and existing homebuyers can receive up to an $6500 tax credit. The 2009 Homebuyer Tax Credit even contains a special provision for Military and federal employees serving outside of the United States.
